How the course is organized

The International School of Animal Osteopathy (ISAO) offers a four-year course for those who want to undertake a new, satisfying job, becoming an animal osteopath.

​

The duration of the course is three years long for those who already have professional experiences in animal care, such as veterinarians, veterinary nurses, graduates in Animal welfare and protection; Human osteopaths and physiotherapists, after meeting with the commission, wil have to attend the veterinary courses of the preparatory year. Those who have no experience in the care of animals or people will have to attend to the preparatory course in full.

At the end of the lessons and passed the tests, one at the end of each year of studies, you will get the certificate to work as an Animal Osteopath, collaborating with the veterinarian in the animal's healing path.

The animal osteopath to be will learn how to treat pets, such as dogs, cats and rabbits, horses, birds of prey and exotic animals (on request.)

You will have to attend ten seminars per year, during as many weekends: on Friday, from 14 to 20, on Saturday, from 9 to 13 and from 14 to 20, on Sunday from 9 to 13 and from 14 to 18.

​

There will be lectures and practical lessons. If another lockdown is needed, the lectures will be offered online.

Many subjects will be studied during the International School of Animal Osteopathy lessons, including chemistry, animal biology (cytology and histology), basic animal anatomy and physiology, comparative anatomy and zoology, zootechnics and zoognostics, hippology, approach to the dog, safety and ethology, general pathology, medical pathology, nutrition, parasitic diseases, pharmacology.

English lessons will be also provided, to allow future animal osteopaths to interact with foreign customers.
